Show Spoiler

a5c7b9f00b Kip Raines, a young car thief, was contracted to steal 50 specific cars but something went wrong. Now the man who hired him, Raymond Calitri, wants his head. When his brother, Memphis, once a great car thief, who retired a few years ago, learns of this, he comes back to town to see if he can help his brother. The only thing that will appease Calitri is if the order is fulfilled. So Memphis has to assemble his old crew, and he has to do the job in a few days. And a cop who hounded him, upon learning of his return, is keeping an eye on him. And another car thief, whom he competed with before wants to get the Calitri job, and is telling Memphis to back off, but he won't.
Memphis Raines must return to the world of auto theft after his brother breaches a contract with a Russian crime lord to deliver high end cars. Memphis must get a gang together for a one night 'boost' to grab all the cars while avoiding apprehension by the auto theft cop who trailed him years before.
I just got through watching "Gone in Sixty Seconds" and I have to say I really enjoyed it! You know, for what could probably be best describedan action movie, "Gone in Sixty Seconds" actually features some well-developed characters, a refreshing change of pace from what we're used to seeing in films of this genre. Simply put, when watching this movie you feel for the characters, are genuinely concerned for their well-being and root for them to succeed. The movie just works!

I think Nicolas Cage does a great job in this movie. What's kind of weird, though, is how my feelings for Nic Cage change depending on what movie I watch him in. Sometimes I think he's a genius (in roles like "Matchstick Men" and "Adaptation") and sometimes I think he's a hack (in roles like "Drive Angry" and "The Wicker Man").

Overall, I think the most exciting part of this movie is the big chase at the end,I'm sure it was intended to be – that's why they saved it for the finale. That being said, though, I also think the whole movie leading up to that is good, too. You wouldn't be so into the ending if you weren't interested in the circumstances that brought it about.

I would definitely recommend checking this movie out, it's just a lot of fun.
Nicolas Cage plays Randall 'Memphis' Raines, a retired car thief who must come back to his old job one more time to steal 50 cars with help from his crew in one night to save his brother's life. Oscar winning actor Nicolas Cage gives a brilliant performanceusual. Angelina Jolie is quite a good job too. I also think Giovanni Ribisi did a really good performance. I've recently been thinking that he's a great actor.

Now, obviously Gone In 60 Seconds is a Jerry Bruckheimer produced movie. (Dominic Sena, being the director. Who also did a brilliant job.) So, it's of course got loads of action. That's of course a good thing, if that's what you're expecting to see. The movie has an interesting story to go with all the good action, with Scott Rosenberg writing this great screen-play. I give Gone in 60 Seconds a 10/10.

NB: If you enjoyed all the car action in Gone In 60 Seconds, than I also recommend The (Brilliant.) Fast And The Furious. It's justfantastic.
The car stunts are ridiculous, all lightning-fast editing and computer enhancement – by the time action is this far removed from reality, who cares?
Nearly five years after the first release of this movie on DVD, Buena Vista Home Ent. released an Unrated Director's Cut that features not only several new scenes - altogether 45 - but also alternate angles of existing shots.
