Kidnapping Mr. Heineken packs an amazing and strong performance by Anthony Hopkins unfortunately not even an actor with his talent can't save a messy script because the film is boring and the characters that we should care about are all badly written and every single one of them were either miscasted or were just bad from the start and besides Hopkins performance i can't find anything else that was good or just interesting about it. Critics were after this one. It's true that doesn't do anything great. But it manages to do almost everything "ok". Maybe the biggest problem is that it looks lazy, because they don't bring anything really great in any aspect. It lacks a bit of strenght on the emotion, witts on the dialogue, intelligence on the plot… etc. But is not bad Kidnapping Mr. Heineken never conveys how a bunch of working stiffs transformed themselves into a coiled — if scrappy and ragtag — criminal operation.
